Spectacular.

5153 Legends Drive is nothing short of spectacular. On approach, the front elevation is simply jaw-dropping. Palatial arches and classical Corinthian columns frame the elegant entry and the awe doesn’t stop there. European in style, this executive estate sits on an acre that flanks Chateau Elan’s The Legends Golf Course. In fact, the home overlooks the Signature 6th Hole, of the private course.

The Legends course is iconic in multiple ways. The brainchild of pharmaceutical giant, racing icon, and developer, Dr. Don Panoz, The Legends Golf Course is an aggregate of greatness. An avid fan of golf, and a good friend of golf great Gene Sarazen, Panoz dreamt of a course that would combine the most notable and challenging holes on one expertly designed course. Known throughout his life as a rainmaker, Panoz saw that dream come to life when Denis Griffiths brought to life the visions of golf titans, Sam Snead, Kathy Whitworth, and Sarazen.

The 6th hole is a little different.

“The 6th is a deceivingly hard hole for being less than 400 yards,” said Jeremy Walter, Golf Pro at The Legends Club. This hole wasn’t designed by any of the Legends, it was instead a collaboration between Griffiths and Panoz. As Denis designed it, it was Panoz who suggested the rock wall that fronts the green on your second shot. Since the 6th is unique and doesn’t mimic any famous holes, it was deemed a “signature” hole.

GOOD TO KNOW WHEN PLAYING THE SIGNATURE 6th:

The 6th hole has a fairly generous fairway that is essential to be hit in order to get to the green, and if able to get it to the green, keeping the ball on the green. The 2nd shot is considerably uphill, adding 12-14 yards of distance to a green fronted by a rock wall and a green where you can only see the top half of the flagstick.  Once on the green, it is a very tough green to putt as there Is not a flat spot on the green.  There are no huge swales or slopes but it is a very hard green with very subtle breaks.

“To me, the 6th is a very hard hole and I am always happy to get out of there with a par and move on to the next hole,” explained Walters.

“I agree with Jeremy,” says Ben Harrison, Broker of Sun Realty Group. “Hole 6 is a tough hole. While I’m better known for my slice than my long drive, I can occasionally hit far enough on the first shot. It’s the second shot that will set you back if you’re not careful. If you are short and hit the wall, it’s possible for the ball to bounce back further away from where you started. Coming off the heels of hole 5, par 5, it can surely rattle your game,” Harrison explained.

After a challenging round of golf, 5153 Legends Drive is an immensely comfortable respite, offering nearly every luxury and amenity imaginable on the estate grounds. Relax outdoors in the terraced courtyard, complete with a pool, fire feature, and bar-b-que. Steps away from the pool, walk right into your very own pub. The terrace level is fully finished, and one of the many highlights is the stately built-in bar that is perfect for sharing your favorite shot with a friend. Feeling a little more refined? Sample the flavors of Chateau Elan’s nearby vineyard in the wine room.

The estate’s main level is opulent at every turn. The well-appointed owner’s suite is lavish in both space and style. Your spa-like bathroom, adjacent sitting room, and your custom-designed closet will ensure you’re rested and ready for those Zoom meetings in the nearby home office/study. Don’t be surprised if your colleagues are more intrigued by the exquisite judge’s paneling and coffered ceilings than your work-related updates. It’s a stunning room.

When you’re not working, spend your time watching the latest blockbuster release in your home theater. Grab all the snacks from the spacious gourmet kitchen and bar, and you’re all set. If you love to entertain, this home is perfect for you. The formal dining room can accommodate a large dinner party, and the flow between the great room, outdoor areas, kitchen, and keeping room is perfect for a cocktail party.

Need space for overnight guests or children? You’re in luck. Look to the 4 to 5 additional rooms available on both the terrace level and the 3rd floor. There are 5 full bathrooms in the home and two half baths. Looking for more? As a homeowner in Chateau Elan’s Legends Community, you’ll be a member of The Legends Club.
